(b) Although it has been a trend to get personal in blogging, it is not advisable to get overly personal. You can be personal but you have to be careful enough in not crossing the border into being “too personal.” Even if you are using it for internet marketing venture, you may have the right to get personal but you have to moderate it. You may post your email address but if it is not a business blog, indicating your street address and phone numbers is not good. This is to prevent yourself from being a victim of crimes such as identity theft, harassment and many others.
(c) Unless you are a reputed blogger that has already gained a celebrity status in the internet, you should not use your real name. It is advisable to use pen names and other aliases. This is for your own safety in the vast world of very unsafe virtual world. Also when mentioning people in your blog post, you should not use real names unless they are people who are as famous as Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.
(d) Since blogs are easily spiderable, updating it regularly in a frequency that you are convenient with is advantageous. Frequent blog updating would have your blog elevated into higher ranking for certain keywords that you employ in your blog posts. Who knows, you can be an internet celebrity if you got your blog always updated; however, it would be possible only if your blog posts are worth-reading anyway.
