continued from The Importance of Tags (Part 2)
Instead of using H1 tags to affirm the relevancy of the web page, some of the web designers use images for headlines. The keyword text is integrated into an image format for aesthetic purposes. That is a bad idea. Why? Search engine spiders just can’t read them. Even if your image text carries the keyword, still it is useless. Internet users may be benefited for that because they have eyes to read what’s written on the image. But search engine spiders are certainly just can’t.
With images for headlines, you get two grave disadvantages. The search engine spiders cannot read your headline even if it carries the keyword, and they cannot see your web page structure. As a result, the search engine spiders would tend to dislike your web page and the rest of the web pages of your site having this characteristic. Of course, it is expected that those web pages are buried in the search engine listing. Having the internet searchers to have found your site is already impossible. This event is no doubt, the greatest failure that a search engine optimizer could have done. Unfortunately, there are actually a lot of them who fail in terms of using header tags such as H1, H2, H3, and so on.
Of course, there are other ways of optimizing your site. Header tags are just additional optimizing technique to have a SEO friendly web design. As web marketing expert, we believe in the principle that we should go through all techniques in order to succeed.
